Dumpster Diver is a user-generated directory platform.

We do not:

• Physically inspect listings
• Verify the accuracy of uploaded information
• Confirm availability of items
• Confirm ownership of items
• Confirm legality of placement

All listings, photos, descriptions, and location details are submitted by users and remain the responsibility of the user who uploads them. We act solely as a technology platform.

2. Location Information & Address Accuracy

Dumpster Diver does not publish exact residential street numbers of hard rubbish piles.

Location markers displayed in the app may:

• Be approximate
• Be manually placed by users
• Be adjusted for privacy purposes
• Contain inaccuracies

Users are solely responsible for the accuracy of the location they submit. We make no representation or warranty that any location shown in the app is precise, corresponds to a lawful hard rubbish collection, is safe or accessible. Users should exercise independent judgment before visiting any location.

3. User-Generated Content Responsibility

Each user is solely responsible for:

• The accuracy of listing details
• The description of items
• The condition of items
• The legality of items
• The location provided
• Any representation about availability

Dumpster Diver does not verify, endorse, or guarantee any listing. We are not responsible for misleading descriptions, incorrect location data, items no longer available, items removed before arrival, or disputes between users. Use of the platform is at your own discretion and risk.

4. Information We Collect

We collect only information reasonably necessary to operate the app.

Information You Provide

• Name or nickname
• Email address
• Listings, reports, and uploaded photos
• Account preferences

Optional Location Data

If enabled, we may access approximate device location to show nearby listings. Location access can be disabled at any time in your device settings. We do not continuously track background location.

Technical Information

We may collect:

• Device type
• Operating system
• App version
• Crash reports
• Performance data

This data is used solely to improve functionality and reliability.

5. Photos and Uploaded Content

When you upload photos:

• They may be publicly visible in the app
• They may be stored on secure third-party infrastructure
• They may be reviewed for moderation purposes

You retain ownership of your content. By uploading content, you grant Dumpster Diver a non-exclusive licence to display and distribute that content within the app. We do not sell user photos.

6. Gamification and Activity Tracking

If you enable Game Mode, we may track:

• Points
• Levels
• Achievements
• Streaks
• Activity logs

This tracking is limited to in-app engagement metrics. It is not used for profiling outside the app. Game Mode is optional.

7. Advertising (If Enabled)

If advertising services such as Google AdMob are enabled, third-party providers may collect anonymous device identifiers for ad delivery.

We do not share personal identity information such as:

• Name
• Email address
• Direct contact information

Ad personalization can be managed through device settings.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data.

• Misrepresentation by users

Users assume responsibility for their own conduct.

11. Account Deletion

Users may request account deletion. Upon deletion:

• Listings may be anonymised or removed
• Gamification data may be erased

Certain records may be retained where required by law.

12. Children

Dumpster Diver is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

13. Updates
